We take the data protection of our clients, readers and subscribers very seriously. In accordance with the GDPR and on the advice of the ICO we have put together the following information:
Our contact details
Name: Tara Springett
Websites: www.taraspringett.com, www.taraspringett.de, www.kundalinisymptoms.com
E-mail: tara@taraspringett.com
What type of information we collect
We collect email addresses from subscribers and from people who make enquiries for counselling through our contact page. We receive the names, email addresses and home addresses of purchasers of Tara Springett’s books from our website through the confirmation emails from paypal.
We collect skype names, email addresses, telephone numbers and postal addresses of our counselling clients along with notes of our counselling sessions, email exchanges and testimonials.
How we get the information and why we have it
We collect the email addresses from individuals who complete our subscriber box or make an enquiry for counselling through our contact page on the taraspringett.com, taraspringett.com/de and kundalinisymptoms.com websites.
PayPal sends us the names email addresses and home addresses of purchasers of Tara Springett’s books from our website.
We ask counselling clients for their skype names, email addresses, telephone numbers and postal addresses, store our email exchanges and write notes during and after each counselling session. Some clients write unsolicited testimonials in emails about their experience of our service. We then ask for explicit permission to publish these comments. Occasionally we ask people in person for a written testimonial or email clients who have finished the sessions to ask about their experience and results with our service.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time by sending us an email and put UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line or you can do this by clicking the unsubscribe link in every mailing. You can also ask us to remove your testimonial from our websites which we will do promptly together with the associated email.
What we do with the information we have
We use the email address that subscribers have given us in order to send occasional mailings about Tara Springett’s books and related services.
We use the email address that people who make enquiries through our contact page have given us only for dealing with their request. Email addresses from one-off questions will be deleted immediately after answering them.
For purchasers of books from our websites, we will not use your email address to contact you unless you have specifically subscribed to our mailing list. We keep the confirmation emails from paypal, which includes your email and home address, solely for our book-keeping purposes and will delete them after 60 days.
We use the skype names, email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses and emails of our counselling clients to conduct skype-based counselling sessions, revert to the telephone if the sound on skype is inadequate and, in the unlikely event of a medical emergency, use the postal address to assist in organising medical attention. We write session notes so that we can offer the best quality care that we can. Case studies are inspired by our client work but the details are completely changed so that noone is recognisable.
After receiving permission in writing we publish client testimonials on our websites, keep the emails that contain the permission and the testimonials, and change the published names and ages in order to protect our clients’ anonymity.
How we store your information
All the personal data we store is securely stored in a password-protected data file.
We will keep your email address until you unsubscribe or email us to delete it. When you unsubscribe or email us to delete it, we will delete your email address from our data files promptly.
For counselling clients, session notes are kept in a permanently locked room and filing cabinet. This information is kept confidential unless we are required by you or by law to share this information, or if we are concerned about your safety. We will delete your personal data, including session notes and email exchanges, after seven years from your final appointment in case it is required in the unlikely event of a legal claim. We keep emails containing testimonials indefinitely or until we take them down from our websites.
